Gracechurch’s 2025 LLB report showcases the women shaping the future of broking

The Gracechurch London’s Leading Brokers 2025 report continues in its commitment to recognising women in what remains a male-dominated sector.

While progress is steady rather than dramatic, this year’s findings highlight a growing roster of female brokers who are shaping the industry’s future through technical excellence, client focus, and leadership potential.

In 2025, women account for 20% of total nominations, a slight increase on last year’s 19%.

While the proportion is still low, the upward trend signals slow but ongoing change in a market historically dominated by men.

Five women appear in the overall leading broker group this year, up from four in 2024, reflecting both individual achievement and increased visibility for female leaders in the market.

This year’s most recognised female brokers, several of whom also rank among the top overall brokers, are drawn from a diverse mix of firms.

Of the top five women, Bianca Jarca of Paragon earns top recognition in Professional Indemnity and Financial Lines, praised for her tenacity and ability to balance client needs with strong underwriter relationships.

Charlotte Hampshire of BPL remains a leading figure in War & Geopolitical Risks, known for her excellent technical knowledge and efficient approach.

Jess Cook-Fernandes at Marsh is commended for her skills in the Marine insurance sector, while Julia Dickson of Aon’ strong negotiation skills helped her secure her place among the leaders in War & Geopolitical risks.

Lydia Kemp of Price Forbes returns to prominence in both Casualty and Professional Indemnity, recognised for her market insight and client-focused approach.

Together, they embody the growing influence of women at the highest levels of London broking.

While the data shows a positive trajectory, the fact that only one in five nominations went to women underlines the need for continued focus on diversity, mentorship, and career development opportunities.

As the report notes, “Change is happening, but slowly.”
