London’s top brokers of 2024: Setting the standard for the year ahead

As anticipation builds for the 2025 London’s Leading Broker Report from Gracechurch, it’s worth reflecting on the standout performers from last year’s rankings – brokers who set the bar in some of the market’s most demanding and dynamic classes of business.

From accident & health to cyber, the 2024 report highlighted excellence across a broad spectrum of specialties.

In aviation, Marsh’s Ed Gold made a notable debut by claiming the top spot, while in energy, Marsh continued to dominate with Jack Edmonstone rising to number one.

The cyber category underscored Aon’s strength, with a trio of their brokers making the cut alongside Howden’s Ben Geffen.

In reinsurance, Aon’s Simon Rowland held onto his top ranking for a second year running, underscoring the consistency of leadership in this critical class.

In professional indemnity and financial lines, Howden, BPL and Paragon led the way, reflecting the breadth of expertise across the market.

2024 also marked meaningful progress in diversity, with brokers like Charlotte Hampshire (BPL), Madeleine Larke (Gallagher), and Kerstin Denker (Marsh) breaking new ground in traditionally male-dominated areas.

These leaders exemplified what it means to combine client advocacy with deep technical capability – core attributes that remain central to success in the London Market.

Who will follow in their footsteps in 2025? And which firms are redefining excellence in the face of ever-evolving global risks?
