2024 Underwriting Service Quality Marque

The inaugural Gracechurch Underwriting Service Quality Marque is awarded to UK and London Market underwriting teams who meet our service quality standards and provide an excellent experience to their brokers and end-clients.

The SQM is based on the Net Promoter Score (NPS) achieved by each team over the previous year, combined with high scores on the customer-centric metrics of Collaboration and Customer focus. This means that brokers can confidently recommend these insurers to clients.

London Market Underwriting

Congratulations to the five Insurers who achieve the inaugural London Market Underwriting SQM in 2024. Our most recent LIM shows that underwriter service has improved overall in the London Market throughout 2023. Claims is becoming more important to the sales proposition, but there is a lack of agreement between placing and claims broking teams regarding who are the best claims providers.

Arch is the only recipient of the inaugural 2024 Underwriting SQMs for both the UK regional and London Markets. It's not hard to understand why: brokers everywhere cite superlative responsiveness, client focus and flexibility as hallmarks of their dealings with Arch. Congratulations on managing to maintain service standards that keep clients coming back for more in London and the wider UK markets.

Canopius is a worthy recipient of the 2024 Underwriting SQM. Although Marine brokers are the most effusive about its service, others are in no doubt as to its quality either. Our most recent UKIM shows that insurer service in the UK regional market continues to improve steadily, but too many carriers still struggle to service their brokers consistently well: a wide gulf exists between the best and worst. We hope to see even more Insurers build on their performance and achieve the SQM in 2025.
