Tracking broking parent groups as well as go-to-market brands

Gracechurch’s 2023 London’s Leading Broker Report, released this week, includes a ranking of London’s leading broking parent groups as well as the Market’s leading go-to-market brands.

We know that brokerages are laser-focused on the brand they choose to go to market as. But this year we also want to shine a light on parent companies, to give a sense of what’s going on in the Market at a more zoomed-out level.

Although it can be a huge advantage to operate under the banner of a well-known Market giant, often the parent group now chooses to retain the former brand name of an acquired brokerage in order to keep client recognition and provide the same focused, boutique feel.

This year, Aon and Marsh tie for top broking parent groups. Marsh, especially, is helped by nominations for its sub-brands including Guy Carpenter and Bowring Marsh. Gallagher, Howden and WTW also perform very strongly.
